BIG Supports Medical Oxygen for Samut Prakan Ruamjai 5 (WHA) Field Hospital

“BIG” continues supplying medical oxygen to support COVID-19 patients as the number of new confirmed cases tents to rise. BIG supported 7-cubic-meter medical oxygen cylinders and regulators for patients in Samut Prakan Ruamjai 5 (WHA) Field Hospital.

Mr. Piyabut Charuphen, Managing Director of Bangkok Industrial Gas Company Limited or BIG – Thailand’s largest oxygen producer – revealed that the current COVID-19 situation led to the increasing number of new confirmed cases, especially in the dark red zone like Bangkok and the vicinity. This also resulted in a shortage of hospital beds. BIG realizes the importance of provide immediate help to encourage quick access to the healthcare system. Recently, BIG presented filled medical oxygen cylinders with regulators to Ms. Jareeporn Jarukornsakul, Chairman and Group CEO of WHA Corporation PCL on August 19, 2021. The oxygen cylinders and regulators will be used to help critical patients restore their oxygen levels in the blood. WHA provides the warehouse with a usable area of 10,000 sq.m. in WHA Mega Logistics Center Chonlaharnpichit KM.4, Samut Prakan to be used as a 1,300-bed field hospital.

“This collaboration comes from the mutual target of private firms. We aim to support the society in order to establish an effective access to the healthcare system for everyone. As the country’s largest industrial gas producer, BIG is ready to supply oxygen for healthcare services. BIG has launched various projects such as free medical oxygen refill for charities, volunteers, and foundations by collaborating with our dealer network in Bangkok and the vicinity and the eastern area. We will continue our support until the COVID-19 reaches its end and the situation returns to normal,” Mr. Piyabut said.
