BIG and Dealer Network around Bangkok Opens Free Medical Oxygen Refill for Volunteer Rescue Squads to Help Covid-19 Patients

Bangkok Industrial Gas Company Limited or BIG – Thailand’s largest oxygen producer – and its dealer network work together to provide free medical oxygen for foundations or volunteer rescue squads helping covid-19 patients in need of oxygen while waiting to be admitted to hospital for treatment.

“The current situation of covid-19 leads to a shortage of hospital beds in Bangkok and the vicinity. The number of confirmed cases wating for hospital beds at home and in communities is accumulating. Among them are many critical patients who urgently need medical oxygen. BIG, therefore, works with our dealers located around Bangkok to open oxygen refill. Interested agencies can bring cylinders to have free oxygen refill at our dealers and deliver them to the patients in time,” Mr. Piyabut Charuphen, Managing Director of Bangkok Industrial Gas Company Limited said.

Initially, BIG joins hands with the dealers to provide free medical oxygen refill for foundations or volunteer rescue squads. For the condition of refilling, medical oxygen cylinders under Thai industrial standard (TSI) with a lifetime under 5 years are accepted while those with an over-5-year lifetime require a hydrostatic test every 5 years according to TSI 385-2551. Free oxygen refill is available at BIG’s dealer network as follows:

BIG will coordinate with dealers located in different areas to facilitate foundations and volunteer rescuers. Cylinders that meet the required conditions can be refilled to help covid-19 patients in need of medical oxygen while waiting for hospital beds.

As the covid-19 situation becomes more severe, BIG and the dealers recognize the importance of medical oxygen and are ready to supply medical oxygen for covid-19 patients at hospitals, waiting for hospital beds, and under home isolation.
