Foundations, public health volunteers, and rescue squads can bring oxygen cylinders and have free oxygen refill to help covid-19 patients waiting to be admitted to hospital for treatment. Mr. Piyabut Charuphen, Managing Director of Bangkok Industrial Gas Company Limited (BIG) – Thailand’s largest oxygen producer – revealed that BIG had expanded the dealer network to open free oxygen refill for agencies in the eastern region. BIG works with Thai Gas Product Limited Partnership, the eastern-region dealer, to set up free oxygen refill for foundations, public health volunteers, and rescue squads in the eastern area where provinces classified in the dark red zone such as Rayong, Chon Buri, Prachin Buri, Chantaburi, and Trat are located. Cylinders under Thai industrial standard (TSI) for medical oxygen with a lifetime under 5 years are accepted while those with an over-5-year lifetime require a hydrostatic test every 5 years according to TSI 385-2551.
