GC and BIG Supply Medical Oxygen to Aid Fight Against New Wave of COVID-19 bigadmin2021-05-10T11:18:31+07:00 Bangkok Industrial Gas Company Limited or BIG – Thailand’s Innovative Industrial Gas Solutions – and PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited or GC – the leading global chemical company for better living – supplied medical oxygen to five hospitals in Bangkok and the Eastern of Thailand for treatment of COVID-19 patients and critical patients during the new wave of the pandemic. Mr. Patiparn Sukorndhamarn – President of PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited – said, “Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, GC and BIG are concerned of the growing crisis in medical treatment which includes the increasing number of new cases in hospitals across the country. GC, therefore, decided to immediately supply medical oxygen. This cooperation between two allies helps deliver 360 tons of medical oxygen to five hospitals in Rayong, home of GC, and in Bangkok area. This supply of oxygen can provide treatment for approximately over 400 critical patients.” Mr. Piyabut Charuphen, Managing Director of Bangkok Industrial Gas Company Limited also added, “BIG as a medical oxygen producer and supplier for many hospitals in Thailand is ready to cope with the COVID-19 situation. BIG has restarted the Air Separation Unit (ASU) Plant One to increase oxygen production by 30% from the current demand. With the fully support from GC, we are able to supply medical oxygen at 99% purity according to Thai Industrial Standard.” These two partners sent 360 tons of liquefied medical oxygen to five hospitals, which can give treatment to approximately over 400 critical patients at the total value of over 10 million baht. The five hospitals include: Queen Sirikit Naval Hospital, Chonburi Klaeng Hospital, Rayong Memorial Hospital Sirindhorn, Rayong Lerdsin Hospital, Bangkok Nopparat Rajathanee Hospital, Bangkok According to the severe situation of COVID-19, GC and BIG are aware of the importance of medical oxygen and ready to supply medical oxygen for the treatment of COVID-19 patients.
