BIG Supports Medical Oxygen to Rak Jai Thai Program on behalf of Bumrungrad Hospital Foundation

On 9 December 2016, Mr. Piyabut Charuphen, Managing Director of Bangkok Industrial Gas Co., Ltd. (BIG) has presented the sponsorship of medical Oxygen to Dr. Num Tanthuwanit, Chief Executive Officer of Bumrungrad Hospital for its Rak Jai Thai (healing hearts) program sponsored by Bumrungrad Hospital Foundation with its objective to help children’s surgery in congenital heart defects. This sponsorship, valued 150,000 Baht, can support the surgery of 42 cases.
The program sponsorship aims to enhance BIG’s corporate social responsibility to help Thai children who have suffered from congenital heart defects to obtain the opportunities of cardiac surgery by the professional pediatric cardiologists and surgeons. Almost 8,000 children have suffered congenital heart defects in Thailand, nearly half of them need the surgery to prevent death or serious physical limitations, however, most of these children lived in impoverished families who cannot afford the high cost of treatment. The ‘Rak Jai Thai’ program has been commenced since 2003 and there have been more than 700 patients treated under this program. With the sponsorship of medical Oxygen, BIG is proud to be a part of assistance to the society especially to the children as for enhancing our mission of growing the sustainability together with all stakeholders.
