| Bangkok Industrial Gas Builds the Largest Hydrogen Plant Serving Clean Energy

Mr. Veerasak Permpaengpunt (Middle) Director - Office of Hemaraj Eastern Industrial Estate (Map Ta Phut), IEAT, recently held a foundation stone laying ceremony for BIG’s new hydrogen manufacturing plant at Nong Fab, Rayong. The plant is to supply increasingly demand of hydrogen gas for cleaner energy source with a production capacity of 10,000 Nm3/hr and is expected to start operation in October 2011.
Hydrogen is widely used in petroleum refining processes to remove impurities found in crude oil such as sulfur, olefins and aromatics. Removing these components allows gasoline and diesel to burn cleaner and makes hydrogen a critical component in the production of cleaner fuels needed by modern, efficient internal combustion engines.
